ABOUT THIS DEPARTMENT
The Department of Ophthalmology provides inpatient and outpatient eye care services for the hospital’s catchment area in Uva province.
Dedicated operating theatre is available for this department with an aim of offering prompt operative care. In year 2012, 41423 patients were seen at the eye clinic and it was an increase of 47% compared to 2009 and this has been made possible by conducting clinics from Monday to Saturday [ 6 days a week] and through the dedication of medical staff with the enthusiastic guidance of the consultant eye surgeon.
